Each year at Mt. St. Joseph Academy, the girls are offered the opportunity of engaging in and experiencing a retreat.
Freshman year the retreat theme, Finding Your Place in the Mission, immerses the students in the process of becoming aware of what the Mount Mission is, the legacy passed on to them from their founders, the Sisters of Saint Joseph in 1650 in Lepuy, France, and how they are called to respond to become the lived expression of God’s mission in our world.
Students in their Sophomore year have a retreat setting with a smaller circle of young women, a day to reflect inwardly on their personal journey with God, called Finding God In the Everyday.
The Junior Retreat calls the students to once again join in the total community, widening their circle. The theme, Finding the Unifier Within, invites the students to reflect on the values that will enable them to make moral and ethical choices from a grounded center in God.
The Senior Retreat, A Future Full of Hope, is a three-day overnight experience. Student retreat leaders along with adult mentors help to invite the students to go deeper into their prayer and communal life. We invite our students to be open to use their gifts to the full and to be leaders of prayer and retreats.
Campus Ministry very carefully designs retreat experiences that are unique to the spirit and SSJ spirituality of the Mount in order to prepare a sacred place where young women can be open to encountering their God.
