About Mount Saint Joseph Academy

Established at Chestnut Hill in 1858, Mount Saint Joseph Academy is a private, selective day school for girls in grades 9 through 12, offering a college preparatory education in a Catholic tradition and context.

Mount Saint Joseph Academy is situated on 78 acres in Springfield Township, Montgomery County. The Mount's pastoral setting lies just outside the community of Chestnut Hill, an urban village with a cultural life of its own and ready access to downtown Philadelphia. The student body commutes from approximately 26 school districts. Enrollment is 560 students, and the average class size is 20. 



Visit the Mount

The Mount invites seventh grade girls to experience life at the Mount by joining us for a morning visit. Half day visitations take place in the spring. A parent may contact the Admission Office beginning in mid-March to arrange a visit. Visits begin in April and continue through the end of May.
